Road trips, minus the stink.

How to use your Winker

Set it up once, then it’s a few snaps between here and the next trash can.

Setup (one time)

1
Bumper magnet applied to a car’s rear panel

Apply the bumper magnet

Pick a flat, vertical steel spot — a car door, or a vertical part of the trunk or tailgate. Not the roof, hood, or trunk lid, and not over trim, badges, decals, or curves.

Clean and dry the surface and the magnet, then press the bumper magnet flat with no bubbles or lifted edges. It protects your paint and gives the Winker a place to attach.

2

Set up your leash

Retractable leash: peel the backing off the included metal disk and press it onto a clean, dry spot on the leash housing.

Standard leash: thread the leash handle through the included keychain loop and twist it snug. The Winker snaps onto the metal disk on the keychain.

Every walk

3
Hands tying a knot in a green waste bag

Knot the bag

After your dog does their business, tie a simple knot in the bag. Double-knot very thin bags.

4
Bag knot threaded through the Winker’s Y-slot

Thread it into the Winker

Push the knot and the extra plastic through the Y-slot on the silicone holder and pull it snug. Keep the total under 8 oz per Winker.

5
Loaded Winker snapped onto a retractable leash

Snap the Winker to your leash

While you walk, snap the loaded Winker onto your leash so your hands stay free until you’re back at the car.

6

Snap the Winker to your car

Wipe any grit off the Winker’s magnet, then snap it flat onto the bumper magnet, keeping the bag and its tail out from under it. Check that it feels firm before you drive. The bag rides outside the cabin until you reach a trash can — clean ride, happy dog.

Removing

7

Remove the Winker

Hold the bumper magnet flat against the car with one hand. With the other, grip the knob and lift the Winker straight up and away, or tilt it slightly to release it. Holding the bumper magnet down keeps it from peeling up with the Winker.

Never slide it off the bumper magnet — sliding drags grit across the surface and can scratch your car’s finish.

8

Remove or move the bumper magnet

Lift it gently from the sides by hand — no tools or sharp objects.

Never peel it from a corner or slide it across the paint.

Take everything off before an automatic or high-pressure car wash, and clean under the bumper magnet at least weekly.
